Where the Virgin Mary stood:
Pochaiv Monastery and the healing spring of Saint Ann
The
Assumption Monastery in Pochaiv (Lavra of Pochaiv) belongs to the
most famous and visited places of pilgrimage. Accoriding to the legend,
the Virgin left the print of her right foot in 1240 near Pochaiv. That’s
why they call this place the second Jerusalem. On the place where she
stood healing water started springing. Soon The Assumption Cathedral was
built on that place. Next we are visiting another sacred object – the
Monastery of the Holy Spirit ,
which functions since XIII c.
Then
we move to the healing spring of Saint Ann, which is located near the
town of Kremenets. People bath in the spring the whole year, so don’t
forget your towels and other bathing things.
The duration of the trip depends on your desire (10-11 hours).
