Lviv city and the outskirts bicycle tour
From Pidzamche to the village Stare Selo
 This
tour of medium difficulty level gives you a chance to visit the oldest
places of Lviv region by bicycle. It starts there where the oldest historical
churches of the 13th century are situated. The route flows through the
highest top of Lviv city – the hill “Vysokyj Zamok” (“The High Castle”)
and the picturesque landscape park “Znesinnya”, where the museum of national
architecture is located. The next goal is the early town Vynnyky, where
the remains of German settlement of the 13th century are preserved: former
German church, houses of the colonists and ruins of the medieval castle.
Nowadays it is a tobacco factory. On the way to Zvenygorog, the city that
used to be a capital of our region, in Vynnyky the group visits the exhibition

to taste the best dishes of Ukrainian cuisine.

 This
trip is one of the longest and the most interesting one day bicycle trips
in Lviv region. It will help you to see little-known medieval monasteries
and castles, which are some kind of parts of “The Golden Horseshoe” of
Lviv region. This excursion may be an extension of the previous bicycle
tour “From Pidzamche to the village Stare Selo” as its starting point
is the fortress in Stare Selo. Narrow twisted roads in the area of beautiful
landscape with a lot of small rivers and lakes show us the way to the
old town Bibrka. The name of the town comes from the beavers that used
to inhabit this place. In the town there are ancient churches, a Market
square, and the old chapel. Young Ivan Franko used to date nearby.
 The
road through the hilly area, which to some extent resembles the Carpathians,
leads us to Svirzh, the small town famous for its castle. The castle by
the lake was founded in the 15th century and later on was used as a platform
for shooting popular films in the medieval style. Then the group rides
to the town of Pomoryany in the picturesque Holohory mountains chain area,
where there are ruins of the favourite castle of the Polish king Jan III
Sobieski. In Pomoryany there is a medieval city hall, Catholic Church
and another wooden church of the 17th century. If you wish we can also
